Immortals: Randy Klein

1 - 19 September 2015

GX Gallery is delighted to present Immortals, a collection of new sculptures and paintings by Randy Klein. Immortals contrasts the heavy solidity of sculpture with a message of poetic lightness. Klein has taken inspiration from poems, the Metamorphoses of Ovid and the Divine Comedy of Dante, which focus on mutability and transcendence. His practice questions whether it is possible to explore spirituality through visual art. The sculptures, fabricated in welded steel, manage to retain a transcendent lightness, touching on an ethereal plane.

Randy Klein is an American artist, living and working in London. Having studied at the Art Student League of New York, Klein’s work includes painting, sculpture and books. From 1991 – 2000 he was a lecturer in Metal Sculptures at City and Islington College.
