Description: We are delighted to welcome Alice Wisden back in 2010 for her exhibition “Outsiders”. In this show her work rebounds a collection of frustrations, anxieties and questions and is driven by issues of identity and alienation. She creates characters in her paintings to form a unit within the identity of the individual viewer, which is first formulated then challenged. She abruptly corrupts the flow of the pictorial tale violently disrupting a focal character. This creates an intimacy between the victim and the viewer through stark alienation. Through utilizing graffiti with unabashed clumsiness that appears absurd, comic and disturbing she creates a deeper affinity with the reflexive characters. By continually loading and cultivating her symbolic language she continues to articulate her invested pictorial philosophies.
