Armando lives and works in London and has been with GX Gallery for a number of years, previous works can be viewed in his portfolio. As an artist Armando has a base of supportive and loyal followers for his emotional, colourful and techincally complex works on linen. The world that Armando presents is as convincing as it is mysterious. With his highly authentic style, Armando creates unique imagery of an inner world in continuous movement, exploring his themes through the use of form and colour. Starting each work with a drawing of the human figure, he then distills the figure down into basis for an abstract composition, through which his imagery presents not only harmonious, flowing forms, but also powerful conflicts, contradictions and breakthroughs, as well as overlapping shadows and contrasting improvisations. As an artist Armando is classical and contemporary and he is also an active teacher of art and has influenced many students and their output over the last ten years. In 2000, Armando gained his diploma in Master of Art History from Kingston University, and in 2001 he co-founded with fellow artist Andre Durand, Neo-modernism; a new philosophy of art. Armando’s visual work reflects influences from his reading of Hermetic and Sufi writings, philosophy and theology.
We are especially proud to be introducing this exhibition, two years on from his last show in London. Collectors are keen to see new works which no doubt will be popular as ever, more than that Armando has seen many challenges in the last 24 months that have affected his artistic output. Paintings in this collection hark back to the previous works with spacious languid backdrops featuring in the new pieces, providing his organic and energetic interpretations of the human spirit with a peacful balance. These works are harmonious in their form, skill and colour.
The exhibition of new paintings opens with a private viewing on Friday 28th September 2012. The event starts at 7:30pm and is the opening for the exhibition of paintings by the artist, which will be exhibited at the gallery from 29th September to 11 October, 2012. Armando Alemdar Ara will be in attendance on the opening night. Please come along early if you wish to discuss works with him or to find out more about paintings already in your collection.
