Established in 2001,  GX is a contemporary fine art gallery. Director Davide Mengoli is an avid art collector and has been a supporter of the arts for many years. It is that journey which led him to providing a resource for Modern, British and International contemporary fine art in Camberwell. Davide purchased the current location and developed what is now the largest gallery of it’s standard in the area, and a unique and respected art dealership.

Situated in a grade 2 listed building in the heart of the historic Camberwell Arts district in South London. GX is within walking distance of Camberwell Arts College, South London Art Gallery, Goldsmiths College and approximately 10 minutes from Victoria Station.

The gallery represents a stable of mid to late career artists. Our emphasis leans towards figurative representation within contemporary art today. The majority of the artists GX represents and develops are represented in siginificant public collections.

The exhibition area fills two floors in an impressive four story Victorian building on the corner of Denmark Hill and Coldharbour Lane.  In 2006 GX Camberwell was renovated and expanded. The lower level is a unique series of rooms lit by both natural and tungsten light. Original details from the 1800’s bakery have been lovingly restored and left intact creating a humanized intimate experience in which the gallery exhibits 2D, 3D and installation artworks.  The upper ground floor is double height, naturally lit with three large floor to ceiling double width glass plates and an illuminating floor and projection area for film works. There is approximately 1500sqft of architecturally designed exhibition space in the current building which can be hired for private events. Contact info@gxgallery.com for further information.
